The Cape Story 2

So a small update on the cape.

The pattern after going through the shredder:

The shredder was me. As you see I took some width from the back. Then at the shoulder and off course the facings. The sleeve extensions ( my Dracula prosthesis - hm, I may call this cape Dracula) suffered most. I wanted it to drape more so it was made more circular. The small puff sleeve is not pictured - it was not changed at all! Matthieu doesn't like puff sleeves at all - I think he finds them too girly. Sometimes I try to picture myself how would I dress if I he would choose my cloths. No more leo print ballerinas and gold shoes, no more 80s reference and then all shades of brown... Oh, it scares me a bit! But on the other hand it could be fierce...

So the fashion fabric is cut. Remember it is navy wool with 10% alpaca and it is hairy. I love the hairs - they sparkle in the sun!

Ignore the seams in the photo - there aren't any. It is all pinned together. Next is some fusing time... I wish we had some Garment Fusing Service here too...

so far it looks very chic, like in the 40's chic, I can picture you with a very long and narrow skirt, that for the elegant version, otherwise I can als see it looking great with jeans!
can't wait to see it finished

Ja I see absolutely like you. I was looking at the capes at the vintage sewing pattern making website and I really like this 40s chic. I think I am making a large buckled belt for it.

I like the style of this cape specially the sleeves! They are very ..."bracula".
I have a question for you...You draw the patterns in a specific software and later you printed and use them?
Good Work!

Hm I actually abuse a software made for 3D modelling for drawing my patterns. I work with this software on my projects and since I can it I just use it to draw my patterns - it is very useful since I can measure both curves and lines. Then I put it into an layout program and print it. It is all not pattern specific...

Geri .- I like a lot the last correction. As well say, is a versatile model, maybe fifties, but I also reminds me a bit of Vionnet style and the organic form of "arts and crafts." I can not wait to see it finished. Greetings dear. Paco
