Every sewer stumbled upon the phenomenon of a UFO ( guess unfinished object? undefined obstacle? undoubtedly obsolete?) once or twice in their sewing practice...
Since I am moving to Berlin but a lot of my stuff is following later I thought it will be a good strategy to take some UFOs with me. So without most of my fabrics and maybe sometimes needing a relaxing (although this is an illusion with an UFO project) undertaking I will be pushed to finished them...
So the first one is the black BWOFy...
I started seriously hating on the piping - It makes it difficult to adjust minor mistakes in the fit. I can live with that. What is genuinely making me crazy is the fact, that it is doing what it wants at the curved seams, getting wonkier in all the wrong directions! Example:
It does look like this on too! I have no idea how to fix it. Any suggestions?
And yes, I did cut it perpendicular as you normally do with curved seams...
I am just so desperate with this one, cause I really love the idea if the jacket, the fabric, the piping. I will love to have this jacket...
Second UFO is not such a tragic story. Just haven't got the time to finish it. Always another project with a priority. Fabric is a silk/ cotton voile...
... with pretty black graphical flowers. And some lines.
I cut the pieces in march or so...
It is kind of a tunic...
I put the pieces together with pins...
I think this UFO may be my first take.

Maybe the problem with the piping is you sewed it in with the fabric slightly stretched... just like when this bulging happens with a zipper?
dude, i have the same graphic UFO in my bin. destined to be pants, and then my hips decided that just wasn't going to happen.
and by the way, i have so not even BEGUN the jonny dress! i've been having too much fun with stretch jersey.
Oh good! I was even afraid to ask you about the johny dress... Didn't wanted bad karma...
Maybe interfacing will help with the jacket. Try stabilising the seams with interfacing...which means unpicking unfortunately :((
Hm, Vicki, I will definitely have to unpick some seams... But the piping is already very thick, don't know if interfacing wouldn't make the seams too thick then...
hummm... Maybe stabilizing the SAs, like you do on a zipper insertion would work....
